Civic offices

All civic offices are closed on Labour Day Monday, September 7.

Recycling/Garbage Collection

Recycling, garbage and yard waste will be collected as normally scheduled for those with Monday as a collection day.

Sunday and holiday bicycle routes

Take advantage of the city’s Sunday and holiday bicycle routes on Sunday, September 6 and Monday, September 7 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Lyndale Drive, Scotia Street, Wellington Crescent and Wolseley Avenue are the four designated routes.

Barricades will be up, as usual, on both days to remind drivers that through-traffic  on the reoutes is limited to one block.

Winnipeg Transit

On Monday, September 7, Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule.

Leisure Centres

All City of Winnipeg leisure centres will be closed on Labour Day, Monday, September 7.

Regular hours are in effect for all centres Saturday, September 5, and Sunday, September 6.

The only exception is St. James Civic Centre pool and fitness facility, which is closed all weekend.

Swimming Pools

All indoor city swimming pools will be closed on Labour Day, Monday, September 7.

Weather permitting, the following outdoor pools will be open Monday:

All Winnipeg Public Libraries will be closed on Monday, September 7.

Cemetery grounds at Brookside, St. Vital and Transcona Cemeteries will be open for visitation from dawn until dusk over the Labour Day long weekend including Monday, September 7.

The zoo will be open regular hours Monday, September 7.

Mall hours

All shopping centres in Winnipeg will be closed Labour Day, Monday, September 7.

Liquor marts

On Friday, September 4 and Saturday, September 6, most Manitoba Liquor Marts will operate on extended opening and/or closing times from 9 a.m. – 11 p.m.

On Sunday, September 6, all Manitoba Liquor Marts will operate on their regular Sunday schedule.

Labour Day Monday, all Manitoba Liquor Marts will be closed.
