Winnipeg drivers spend nearly an extra four full days every year travelling through the city, a new traffic congestion report said.

Winnipeg comes in sixth on the TomTom Traffic Index 2016, which is a survey of Canada’s most congested cities.

Congestion adds an extra 22 per cent more travel time to our drive or about 23 minutes, the report said.

That's down four per cent from last year.

The most congested day in 2015 was Dec. 16.

However across the country, Thursday evening is the most congested commute.

Vancouver tops the list with an added 133 hours of extra travel time a year, while Calgary is at the bottom.
