A search and rescue crew from 17 Wing Winnipeg put their training to the test Tuesday night.

While preparing for a practice exercise, the crew was called on a real search and rescue mission.

A plane in distress was forced to touch down in swampland near Landsdowne, Ontario after it activated an emergency signal.

The Winnipeg crew was called in to help. They quickly located the plane, dropped supplies, and confirmed there were no injuries. The crew remained on scene until a rescue helicopter arrived.
