The police arson unit is investigating the cause of a fire at a building in the Exchange District.

Crews were called to the 100 block of James Avenue around 11 p.m. Wednesday night.

Police said the building is part of a condominium construction project. No one was inside at the time of the fire.

The manager of the construction firm said the fire had little impact, with damage pegged at less than $10,000.

Because the building wasn't scheduled to be worked on for another eight to 10 months, work on the condo development won't be delayed, he said.
