Valley Gardens Community Centre was hit with hate graffiti on the weekend.

Racial slurs, swastikas and other offensive images were spray-painted on the outdoor rink warming huts.

MC Bubba B lives nearby and saw the graffiti on Sunday.

He said it was an emotional and disappointing sight to see just days after the mayor's National Summit on Racial Inclusion.

City crews covered up the graffiti Monday afternoon.

Even though the walls have now been covered up, Bubba B would like something more to be done to prevent this from happening again.

He wants to use the walls as canvasses for educational murals, teaching the children who walk by about the Canadians who have made real social change regarding racism.
