The family of a teenage boy murdered in a case that remains unsolved struggles to come to grips with his death.

"It's so hard to accept that my son is gone. There's no night (that) I don't cry. I pray for his soul. I can't believe it," says Edie Green.

The beaten body of her son Frank Green Jr., 17, was found in a cemetery on Archibald Street in September. His family wants to know who committed the crime.

Hours before Frank Green Jr.'s body was found, police received a number of reports of males running from the cemetery. Surveillance cameras at a nearby convenience store captured images of people that same night.

Winnipeg police say they consider the males persons of interest at this point and have released the surveillance tape in hopes someone may be able to help.

"And certainly if anyone has knowledge of who these individuals are, we'd like to speak to them at this point," says Det. Sean Black.

While the video images are not the best quality, police say they are important to the case, leading to the decision to release them for the first time to the public. The video is available for viewing on CTV Winnipeg's website.

Edie Green says the last night her family saw her son alive was at a dinner, but she wasn't able to make it.

"I remembered the last time I talked to him. He said ‘mom, I'm waiting for you to have supper.' And I didn't have the chance to join him," says Edie.

The regret over not seeing her son at the dinner haunts her to this day.

Edie hopes the surveillance video helps the police investigation to find suspects in her son's death.

"I'm begging. Please help us. Those who (did this)…you are a human being, you have a conscience. Please come out," says Edie.

Anyone with information about the case or those people shown in the surveillance video can contact Crime Stoppers at 786-8477.
