A McCreary Road homeowner who built a massive ice rink says the effort is a labour of love.
"That's what I love doing. I'm retiredand I love doing it," said Bill Martens.
Martens has been building it on his property for a month.
The biggest challenge is preparing snow to cut. He uses a snowblower to pile it first.
It's not done yet, but he hopes to submit the rink to the Guinness Book of World Records.
"I do believe that this is probably the largest and most beautiful bowl in the world,” he said.
Martens plans to host hockey games and open the rink to the public. He hopes it will fit up to 1,200 people.
