Manitoba Hydro’s rates go up today, but not as much as the utility wanted it to.
An interim 3.36 percent increase in billed rates was approved by the Public Utilities Board on Monday.
The rise in revenue will go to a deferral account to help moderate future rate increases when Bipole 111 comes into service in July of 2018.
Hydro had requested a 7.9 percent increase.
