In a blue election night sweep, New Democrat Kevin Chief was able to hold onto his seat in Point Douglas.
The incumbent candidate bested Liberal Althea Guiboche, Tory Marsha Street, Green Party candidate Alberteen Spence, and Frank Komarniski of the Communist Party.
Point Douglas has been an NDP stronghold since it was created in 1969. Chief first secured the seat in 2011, where he won 72 per cent of the vote.
