Police have arrested a man who is a suspect in a brass knuckle assault in Portage la Prairie.
The assault happened Monday evening. The victim was taken to Portage General Hospital by family members. He has since been moved to the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, where his injuries are said to be non-life threatening.
On Wednesday RCMP released a photo of Lawrence Dolphus Catcheway, 26, of Portage la Prairie.
On Thursday, RCMP announced they had arrested Catcheway. He is due in court Thursday in Portage la Prairie.
Catcheway is charged with:
- aggravated assault
- possess prohibited device
- possess prohibited device while prohibited from possessing any weapon
- breach probation.
