The constituency of St. Johns will remain orange after Nahanni Fontaine won former cabinet minister Gord Mackintosh’s old seat.
Mackintosh announced earlier this year he would not seek re-election, despite being nominated to run in the St. Johns constituency.
He held the seat since 1993, and won the last provincial election with 65 per cent of the vote.
Fontaine beat Progressive Conservative candidate and former Osborne House executive director Barbara Judt, the Liberal’s Noel Bernier.
