Winnipeg police have made an arrest in the shooting death of David Michael Vincett, 20.

A 14-year-old boy faces a charge of first-degree murder, said police.

Vincett was found shot in the area of Boyd Avenue and Andrews Street in Winnipeg on Sept. 25.

Officers said an investigation determined the suspect was in the area of the 500 block of Boyd Avenue when he encountered the victim.

Following a dispute between the two, the suspect pulled out a gun and fired it in the direction of the victim, said police.

The suspect was arrested around 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 27. He is being held at the Manitoba Youth Centre.
