A local business is making it possible to strap on a wakeboard, without heading out to the lake.

Adrenaline Adventures is opening a wakeboard park, the newest addition to this newly-opened outdoor park near the west Perimeter. Come July, visitors will be able to wakeboard on two man-made lakes and a system of cables.

"You can wakeboard up to seven people on the large lake at one given time, whereas behind a boat it's one, maybe two, behind at one time," says Adrenaline Adventures owner Jason Rohs.

The multi-million dollar outdoor park features many other activities, including climbing, zip lining and downhill tubing in the winter. Staff members are on hand to teach customers and encourage them to conquer their fears.

"This is a great place to come and learn because of the high cables and because it's such a high tow point. It makes learning really easy," says wakeboarder Connor Ward.

The wakeboarding park is scheduled to open to the public on Canada Day. Also coming soon: a beach and beach volleyball courts. Summer camps are planned for the facility as well.

Until the park is fully operational, it will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. until dusk (roughly 9 p.m.). Customers can confirm the park is open by calling (204) 800-2060.
