Among the 15 organizations and individuals honoured by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada Wednesday night, was Winnipeg’s Canadian Museum for Human Rights and RAW: almond restaurant on ice.

The museum won the National Cultural Tourism Award and RAW: almond won the Canada Innovator of the Year Award.

The ceremony was presented by The Toronto Star and was held in Ottawa at the Westin Ottawa Hotel.

It is presented annually to recognize people, places, organizations and events that go above and beyond to offer the best tourism experiences in Canada.

Some of the other winners included: The Business of the Year Award for Rocky Mountaineer in Vancouver, The Community Service Award to Gros Morne Cooperating Association in Rocky Harbour, Newfoundland and the Youth Tourism Entrepreneur Award went to Jesse Cooke with Husky Bus from Dawson City, Yukon.
