Five people have been charged in a string of break-ins that saw $240,000 worth of property stolen from more than a dozen residences between September and November.

The suspects are charged with break-ins at 15 locations throughout Winnipeg. Five vehicles and numerous credit cards were taken and used to make purchases at stores around the city.

Police executed warrants at a house in the first 100 block of Prince Edward Street where they also found several firearms.

Rueben Jaymes Sinclair, 29, and Maverick Rock Woodhouse, 24, have been arrested and charged with multiple offences, including 16 counts of break-and-enter, fraud under $5,000, use of a credit card, possessing goods obtained by crime, mischief under $5,000 and weapons-related charges.

Police have also charged Chelsea Desmarais, 19, Jerilyn Catcheway, 36, and Dora Chartrand, 41, with various property and weapons offences.

In total, the five suspects have been charged with 88 property-related offences.
