Winnipeg police are still on the scene of a stabbing involving multiple people in the West End.

Police taped off the parking lot and part of the street in front of a strip mall at the corner of Spence Street and Sargent Avenue.

Police were called to Blue Nile Restaurant for a report of a stabbing shortly before 6 a.m. Saturday.

There is no word on the exact number of people involved, but police said at least three people were injured. One person was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Police did not release any details of the age or sex of the victims, and did not say if they have any suspects.

Around the same time as the report of the stabbing, police responded to an incident involving a stolen vehicle in the 1400 block of Portage Avenue. Two people were taken into hospital.

Police are not releasing whether the incident with the vehicle occurred before or after the stabbing.

It’s unclear how the two incidents are related.
