CFL fans from across the country hosted a meet-and-greet to help fight cancer in Winnipeg.

Fans gathered for a big breakfast at Garbono's Pizza Pub yesterday to raise money for CFL Fans Fight Cancer.

The grassroots organization was started by CFL fans who travel to the host city of the grey cup each year.

Admission was free. Guests had the chance to win prizes, and meet notable CFL alumni.

"100 per cent of the money goes to charities in the city, in this case, it's the Never Alone Foundation and that helps people dealing with cancer in Manitoba."

CFL fans fight cancer, doesn't take tax receipts.

Organizers say it's about the community coming together and helping cancer patients in the host city.
