Coun. Ross Eadie’s position on the Winnipeg Police Board could be under review. Eadie was not at the board’s monthly meeting on Friday.

When asked why, the councillor would not explain his absence, telling CTV he can’t talk about it.

Police Board Chair Scott Gillingham says the board granted the absence but he could not elaborate either.

Gillingham and the city clerk’s office confirms Eadie is still a member of the committee.

Last month, after a night of drinking, Eadie spent the night at the Main Street Project, the city’s drunk tank.

Rules governing the police board say every member must follow the code of conduct set out by the police commission.

That code says members must not engage in conduct that would discredit or compromise the integrity of the board or the police service.
