Linebacker Ian Wild didn't keep count of how many people he tackled on the way to Friday's 26-14 win over Montreal. It fell to CTV’s Shawn Churchill to inform Wild he had 14 tackles against the Alouettes, a new franchise record for tackles in one game.

“I didn’t even realize I had that many, to be honest with you,” Wild said Friday night. “I was just out there playing, one play at a time. I had a good bit in college one time.  I didn’t even realize I had that many.”

Wild wasn’t alone when it came to solid play on defence. Defensive Back Maurice Leggett had three interceptions off tipped balls.

“I’d just like to thank my teammates for that, for all the tipped balls,” Leggett said. “We did very well. We still have improvements to make.”

“I definitely think we played more sound in the past two weeks,” Wild said. “It was nice to get a full week of practice in so we could work on some things. I think we played aggressive and did our job out there and we got the ball back for the offence a few times, so I think it was pretty good overall.”

The Blue Bombers visit the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday August 31 in the Labour Day Classic. The two teams will play again in two weeks at Investors Group Field on Sunday September 7 in the Banjo Bowl.
