RCMP said Cameron Rocky Caribou, 31, faces charges in the death of a Pukatawagan woman on Sunday.

Around 6 p.m. on Jan. 12, officers received a report of an unresponsive woman brought to the Pukatawagan nursing station.

An initial investigation showed the woman had been travelling with a group through the community on a snowmobile when she fell off the back of it and was struck by an ATV following close behind, said RCMP.

The woman was taken to the local nursing station where she was pronounced dead.

RCMP said the woman was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

Police had previously called for the public's help in locating Caribou and said he faced charges for impaired driving causing death and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

On Jan. 17, RCMP said he had been located and arrested in Pukatawagan without incident.
