Two reports on medical wait times have indicated longer waits for certain procedures in Manitoba this year compared to 2014.

The 2015 Wait Time Alliance Report Card found the wait for an MRI in Manitoba increased in 2015.  The report also says the wait got longer for cataract surgery in 2015 compared to 2014.

The report card once again highlighted long waits for prostate cancer treatment.  The province received a grade of ‘F’ meaning less than half of patients were treated within the benchmark 14 day period.

The Fraser Institute also released a report which found Manitoba fell below the Canadian average when it comes to wait times between getting a referral from a general practitioner and getting treatment.

Manitobans waited 19.4 weeks in 2015 while across Canada patients waited an average of 18.3 weeks.
