Following Monday’s thunderstorms, Manitoba Public Insurance said it has received hundreds of hail claims.

By the end of business day Tuesday, MPI said it expects to have received more than 1,000 claims.

About 90 per cent of those are from Winnipeg drivers.

MPI spokesman Brian Smiley said costs from the hail storm are not yet known, since none of the vehicles have been inspected yet.

To help drivers dealing with hail damage, MPI is opening a special hail claim centre June 13 at its service centre at 15 Barnes Street.
