Shortly before 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, police advised drivers and pedestrians to avoid the area around the 300 block of Madison Street.

Police later closed Ness Avenue in the area, saying the bomb unit had been dispatched.

Around 12:30 p.m., police said the area had been deemed safe and roads re-opened to traffic.

What had initially been thought to be a pipe bomb turned out to be a tube used to carry keys that had been dropped by a delivery person.
