Cranberry Brioche - 2 slices

Butter - 1 tbsp.

Shaved Ham - 3 oz.

Gruyere - 1 slice

Crème Fraiche - 1 tsp.

Dijon - 1 tsp.

Eggs, beaten - 3

Heavy Cream - 1/4 cup

1) Beat the eggs and add the heavy cream, and then place in cooler until needed. Butter both pieces of brioche. On one slice add the Dijon Mustard on the other add the Crème Fraiche. Place the Ham on the Dijon piece of bread, then add the Gruyere and top with the Crème Fraiche piece of brioche. Press the sandwich so it stays together a little.

2) Place a medium non-stick frying pan over high heat until the pan is hot but not smoking. Reduce heat to medium and add a little canola oil. Dip the sandwich in the egg-heavy cream mixture, and fry it in the hot pan like you would French Toast. When one side is golden brown, carefully turn the sandwich to brown the other side. Depending on the thickness of your sandwich, you might have to bake it in a 350 F oven for a few minutes. When the cheese is melted, the Monte Cristo is ready.

Other instructions -  You can substitute the Brioche for French bread and the type of cheese is up to you. Traditionally, it is made with Gruyere but I do not want you to starve if you don’t have all of the ingredients.
