Winnipeg police said two suspects face charges following the theft of a poppy collection box from a gas station in November.

On Nov. 7, 2012, a male and a female went into a gas station in the 1100 block of St. Mary’s Road.

Police said that the woman distracted the clerk, while the man took the poppy box, which contained an undisclosed amount of cash.

The store released surveillance images in the case.

On Jan. 3, 2013, two suspects were arrested.

Dallas Ian Jensen, 23, and Averi Anne Cairns, 21, both of Winnipeg face charges for theft under $5,000, said police.
