The province has banned trapping in Grand Beach Provincial Park, after a dog was killed in the area.

Rob Shura's six-year old rottweiller cross, Pippen, was caught in a trap and died.

Shura was walking his dog on a trail in the park.

Manitoba Conservation said it's now investigating to see if the trap was illegally set.

It’s also reviewing trapping in all provincial parks.

Conservation said trapping is allowed in the area, but there are no signs indicating where traps may be set.

For now, the province has banned all trapping at Grand Beach.

Trapping is not allowed at Bird's Hill, Beaudry and Pembina Valley Provincial Parks.
