Starting on Nov. 30, the public in Winnipeg can see the polar bear named Storm. Zoo staff brought him from Churchill to Winnipeg last month to the International Polar Bear Conservation Centre.
The Assiniboine Park Zoo announced Thursday that the three-year-old male polar bear named Storm has already met one of the zoo’s other bears, Hudson.
“Yesterday we introduced him to Hudson for the first time, and there’s no doubt that the two of them are going to be great friends,” said Brian Joseph, director of zoological operations at Assiniboine Park Zoo, in a statement Thursday.
Storm arrived at the zoo on Oct. 10 after Manitoba Conservation identified him as “a candidate for transfer to the IPBCC after he was found within the town of Churchill in early September," said the zoo in its statement. "Since his arrival, the approximately 200 pound polar bear has adjusted well to his new surroundings."

The zoo also has taken in two polar bear cubs, which are currently off exhibit.
