Sobeys will shutter dozens of its Canadian stores this fall, including a half dozen in Manitoba.
On the list to close up shop in Manitoba are four Safeway stores, including one in Garden City on Leila Avenue, one at Ness Avenue and Sturgeon Road, one in Steinbach and the one at Brandon’s Shoppers Mall.
The IGA on Jefferson Avenue in The Maples and a Sobeys’ Cash and Carry store in Thompson will also close.
Empire Co. Ltd. (TSX:EMP.A) says it's closing about 50 underperforming Sobeys to improve its net earnings.
