Winnipeg police have arrested a fourth suspect in connection with the murder of Canon Franklin Beardy.

A 17-year-old male youth was arrested Friday and has been charged with second-degree murder.

In February, police began investigating a Magnus Avenue home following the death of 28-year-old Canon Beardy. His death was later ruled a homicide.

Beardy, 28, died on Feb. 6 in hospital.

Joshua Leclerc, 20, along with a 16-year-old male youth and a 14-year-old male youth had previously been charged in connection with the murder.

The youths' identities are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
