Some cattle producers in the Interlake are worried about the impact of flooding.

At Peonan Point by Lake Manitoba, about 250 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg, water has flooded the shoreline and taken over fields.

Some ranchers said their pastures are so waterlogged, they're running out of places for their animals to graze.

One rancher in the area with 600 cattle told CTV News it's also becoming increasingly difficult to move his herd, due to extremely muddy roads.

Some people are blaming the Portage Diversion for the rise in water, but the province said that's not the case.

"Yes, over the operation of the Portage Diversion - when more water is going into the lake - than going out of the lake, there will be an increase in lake levels, but that would occur naturally…there are natural in-flows into the lake," said Steve Ashton, the province's minister of emergency measures.
