Members of Canada’s oldest youth organization celebrated a major milestone on Saturday.

The Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders are commemorating the 100th anniversary of the foundation of their Army Cadet Corps.

The cadets marched through the Exchange District to City Hall on Saturday afternoon. A representative of the mayor met them to renew their right to exercise their Freedom of the City, a symbolic honour granted to trusted military units permitting them to parade through a city.

The Royal Canadian Army Cadets has 20,000 members in 300 communities across Canada.
