She went in to buy treats for her dog and when Aimee Desrochers came out of Grant Park Shopping Centre Monday night her Cadillac Esclade had disappeared, and so had Thor.
Thor, not to be confused with the Norse God of Thunder, is a chocolate lab.
"I started crying right away," Desrochers said.
Thor's other owner is equally upset by his disappearance.
"He's a part of the family. You're used to him being there all the time. This dog was with us all the time. He'd rather be in the truck knowing we're inside than just being at the house," Ryan Marlowe said.
Desrochers says she was only inside the mall for about 15 minutes, and she purposely parked closer to the store because the dog was inside the truck.
So far police have not been able to recover the SUV or the dog.
The couple has called every animal shelter in town, but so far no sign of the 115 lbs lab.
It is not easy for the couple to go out and search because
Desrochers is eight months pregnant, and Marlowe is on crutches.
It is why they are offering a $1000 reward for Thor's safe return, no questions asked.
Update
Late Tuesday evening someone returned Thor and collected the reward.
