An intersection on Highway 59 will be closed Friday for 48 hours to accommodate demolition work for the new interchange.
The province said Provincial Highway 59 and the North Perimeter will be shut down starting at 10 p.m..
The intersection will be closed for the demolition and removal of the last remaining section of a concrete loop to make way for the new interchange.
The province said the demolition will be over by Monday-morning rush hour on May 16.
Advisory signs informing motorists of the detour are set up. Information will be given through the 511 information system and the Manitoba Roads Twitter feed.
Drivers are reminded to slow down and drive safely when they see construction signs and flaggers on the roadside.
Motorists should also keep an eye out for reduced speeds in construction zones.
