Flood watches and warnings have been lifted in the province, but water woes continue in the Interlake region.

Manitoba Water Stewardship says overland flooding in the area will continue for the better part of next week.

Residents tell CTV News the water is still rising, and homes are already being evacuated.

The flood water is proving the most destructive for farmers. Many have lost a whole crop of hay, and that is doubling the price for bales. Some cattle producers are faced with the dilemma of selling off their stock.

Parts of the RM of Armstrong and the RM of Bifrost were the hardest hit, receiving up to 125mm of rain.

Soil in the area was already saturated after a heavy storm on July 12th.

An official for the RM of Armstrong say the water has forced at least five people to evacuate.

He says the roads are so flooded; they can't get to their homes.

Excess water also flooded a sewage lagoon, resulting in the closure of the Camp Arnes Beach.

The average rainfall in the Interlake for the month of August is 65mm.
