Chicago Blackhawks' captain and Stanley Cup champion Jonathan Toews spent much of Monday supporting children in Winnipeg.

Toews, 22, brought the Stanley Cup to the Children's Rehabilitation Foundation and spent time with special needs kids in his hometown.

He posed for pictures and answered questions from his young fans.

"Sometimes they're very shy and some kids don't have much to say but you can just tell by their body language how excited they are," said Toews.

"I feel awesome…it felt like I was a champion," said Cole Magnusson, 11, who met Toews and got to wear his Olympic gold medal.

Toews also helped raise money for the Children's Rehabilitation Foundation by participating in a golf tournament.

On Sunday, a celebration and parade for Toews was held in Winnipeg to pay tribute to his Stanley Cup win with the Chicago Blackhawks in June.
