WINNIPEG - There are more signs of trouble in the Manitoba Liberal Party with a provincial election two weeks away.

Mike Brown has issued an email to party members and the media asking for party unity.

The email says a media outlet was working on a negative story about leader Rana Bokhari and urged Liberals not to speak against her.

The email pointed to the last election, when one candidate mused about the Liberal party facing annihilation and the party ended up with its worst showing in decades.

Brown says he sent the email to reporters as well as other Liberals because he wanted to be transparent about what was happening.

The Liberals have been riding high in opinion polls, but have suffered a series of setbacks on the campaign trail for the April 19 election, including the loss of seven candidates.
