WINNIPEG -- Opposition delay tactics at the Manitoba legislature continue to hold up the provincial budget.

The fiscal plan was supposed to be introduced last Wednesday, but the New Democrats have ground proceedings to a halt by talking out the clock every day.

They say they are trying to prevent the government from introducing some 20 bills that could be passed into law this spring.

If the delay continues for another day or more, those bills may not pass until the fall.

The budget's contents have already been revealed to reporters and members of interest groups who were given embargoed briefings last week.

But they are not allowed to reveal the details until the budget is tabled in the chamber.
