Winnipeg police released photos of a suspect wanted in connection with the assault a 21-year-old woman on a transit bus on Friday, Oct. 8.

Around 1:30 p.m. on Marion Street, the woman, who was a passenger on the bus, felt something on the back of her head.

She realized an unknown man had spit on her hair and began yelling at the victim.

He abruptly grabbed her hair, pulling her out of the seat.

At this point other passengers attempted to intervene.

The victim was further assaulted and injured in the upper body by the unknown suspect.

Eventually another passenger was able to push the suspect off the bus.

The victim was able to make it home and contact police.

Members of the East District Crime Unit are now searching for the man.

The suspect is described as 45 to 50 years old and approximately 5’8 feet (172 cm) tall with dark features.
