A man who was found severely injured near a Carberry motel, has died.
On Wednesday, Carberry RCMP received a report of a severely injured man near the Carberry Motor Inn, 179 km west of Winnipeg.
Officers attended the location around 11:45 p.m., where they found the man.
The victim was transported to hospital, where police said he died.
RCMP are not giving further information as the investigation is ongoing.
Sources tell CTV News the victim was Garnet Baptiste of Ebb and Flow First Nation. They believe he was in Carberry for a job and was jumped.
In January, RCMP charged 26-year-old Garnet Baptiste of Ebb and Flow with several drugs and weapons-related offences. The Crown later dropped all charges.
