Charges have been laid against a company for an immense fire in St. Boniface that forced the evacuation of nearby homes on Oct. 1, 2012.

Eight bylaw charges have been laid against Speedway International and its director.

Among the charges are storing flammable liquids in excess of maximum quantities permitted and failing to obtain consent of the Chief of the Fire Paramedic Service and a permit to install storage tanks containing flammable liquids, state court documents.

Each charge carries a maximum fine of $5,000 for corporations and $1,000 for individuals.

The case has been adjourned until June 27.
