Three teens were robbed at knife-point after leaving Polo Park mall over the weekend, according to police.

Police said two 18-year-old girls and one 18-year-old boy were surrounded by a group of five men under the railway bridge, east of Empress Street and Westway, around 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2014.

Police said the boy was assaulted and one of the girls was robbed of her debit card and PIN. The boy suffered minor injuries.

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

All teens were robbed of their property including cellphones and cash.

"They certainly complied with the requests or demands by the suspects and likely that is why nobody was seriously injured,” said Const. Jason Michalyshen from Winnipeg police.

"A very traumatic incident for our victims and definitely a unique circumstance when we're talking about robbery-related incidents,” he said.

Police said they were held at knife-point for nearly an hour and a half while they were robbed, threatened and assaulted.

They were eventually allowed to leave and notified police.
