Water bombers and ground crews were able to knock down a 15 hectare (40 acre) bush fire near Marchand Sunday.
The fire had started in a field of dry grass. Manitoba Conservation officials say that lower winds made it easier to contain the fire.
Three water bombers and 20 firefighters worked on the blaze. It took three hours to put it out.
Marchand is about 35 km southeast of Steinbach.
