Blaze reported in basement of old Canada Post building

Firefighters faced a challenging blaze Monday afternoon in downtown Winnipeg.

A fire started in the basement ventilation system of the old Canada Post building on Graham Avenue.

The building is being renovated and transformed into the new headquarters for the Winnipeg Police Service.

Fire officials said the fire wasn’t easy to fight since the building is so large and because of construction work underway.
