Winnipeg Mayor Brian Bowman reaffirmed no wading pools or recreation centres will be closed as a result of the upcoming budget.
Councillors Ross Eadie and Jason Schreyer said during budget discussions they were told the facilities were on the chopping block.
But Bowman says the cuts were proposed by the city's administration and he says they will not happen.
There is still no date set for the budget but it's expected to be tabled sometime in early March.
