Fiery Perimeter crash sends semi driver to hospital in critical

Paramedics rushed the driver of a semi to hospital in critical condition from a fiery crash on the north Perimeter on Aug. 19.

RCMP said the semi-truck collided with an excavator in the eastbound lane, near Pipeline Road, Wednesday morning.

The driver of the excavator was not injured, said RCMP.

Fire crews arrived and managed to extinguish the flames.

RCMP are investigating to determine the cause of the collision.
