It took several hours to extinguish a fire in a large cement grain silo in the 3000 block of Dugald Road Monday afternoon.
Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services were called to the silo which was filled with over 40 tonnes of barley.
A spokesperson for the fire department said the barley had to be taken out of the silo and extinguished on a loading area.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
There is no estimate of the cost of damages from the fire.
