Strong winds blew down a tree, damaging a vehicle on Brazil Street, in Tyndall Park on Sunday evening.

Witnesses said two men were getting out of the vehicle when it happened.

Aysa Fernandez, who lives on the street felt the impact of the tree falling as she was doing laundry in her basement.

She believes one man was seriously hurt, another escaped with cuts and bruises.

The pair was looking to purchase the vehicle when it happened.

Fernandez said the man on the driver's side of the vehicle was pinned.

“He looked like he was in so much pain and his foot was pinned under the tree,” said Fernandez.

High winds also caused quite the disturbance to power lines across the city.
