A Manitoba couple continues to search for their missing 21-year-old daughter and hopes someone will still come forward with information.

George and Melinda Wood said they will not give up looking for their missing daughter Christine Wood, who disappeared more than 11 weeks ago.

“I can’t believe it’s been this long. It’s too long already. We don’t know where she is,” Melinda said.

Winnipeg police said she was last seen by her family Aug. 19 at the Days Inn on 695 Berry Street after 9 p.m. before going out for the evening.

Christine parents have been in Winnipeg since she went missing, except for one weekend when they returned to their home community of Oxford House.

George and Melinda said they continue to venture into different Winnipeg neighbourhoods asking people if they have seen their daughter.

“There’s been areas that we’ve been told she could possibly be, possible locations, where they are certain activities involving some type of people in her situation that have gone missing,” George said.

Members of Oxford House First Nation have been fundraising to help the Wood family to continue their search for their daughter in Winnipeg.

Christine is from Oxford House, but previously lived in Winnipeg for about 2 years, her father said.

“Absolutely there is someone that knows something about her. Where she is and what’s happened to her. Those are the things we want to know from the public,” George added.

Winnipeg police said Monday they are heavily involved in the case and continue to investigate. Officers with the missing persons unit tell CTV News they are concerned as more time passes.

The Canadian Centre for Child Protection said anyone with information can call police, or call the centre directly at 1-866-543-8477.
