One week before an NDP delegate vote decides the next party leader, and premier of Manitoba, candidate Theresa Oswald announced an action plan for her first 100 days in office.

Oswald pledged to have a provincial budget ready for April that includes provisions for hospitals and schools, and makes post-secondary education more affordable.

The prospective budget would also include Oswald’s proposed PST rebate for low-income families.

The candidate spoke to a crowd of delegates at Sturgeon Heights Community Centre Sunday.

Other initiatives in the plan include calling a by-election in The Pas, consulting with workers and business on her proposed Manitoba pension plan and introducing legislation that supports victims of domestic violence.

Premier Greg Selinger and northern MLA Steve Ashton are also vying to become the next provincial party leader.

That decision will be made by hundreds of delegates in a vote on March 9.
