A 32-year-old man is dead following a collision on Garven Road in the RM of Springfield on Tuesday night, according to RCMP.
The Mounties said it happened just after 10:30 p.m. when an ATV hit a pickup truck with a trailer that contained active bee hives.
Officers said they arrived on scene and found the truck in the south ditch. The ATV was still on the roadway, but had been heavily damaged.
Investigators believe the truck was travelling westbound on Garven Road when the ATV emerged from the ditch to cross the road, and the two vehicles then collided.
The driver of the ATV, a 32-year-old man from Springfield, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 27-year-old driver of the pickup truck, also from Springfield, suffered minor injuries.
RCMP does not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Forensic units are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
